Meet Rhea

About Rhea BrownMom blogger, social media strategist, and WAHM is what I am sought after for by small business owners and women entrepreneurs. Author, Speaker and Founder of the International Alliance of Mom Small Business Owners (iAMSBO) are my passion and mission in helping moms who blog and stay at home moms looking to become work at home moms (WAHM).

What do I do?  Well, most of the day, I’m in my pajamas typing, talking and assisting other women start their EXIT STRATEGY towards launching their internet home business and demonstrating the power of the internet to create multiple streams of income.

But before I tell you about myself, let me tell you how I got started doing what would end up changing my entire life.  Not only did my life change but I ended up doing what I loved and generating an income to support my passion.  The purpose of this blog is to share  my entrepreneurial journey and offer tips for mommy blogs in business.

So first, a little bit about me…

I was born in Georgetown, Guyana (that’s in South America people) where I was raised by my grandmother who spent most of her life in service to the church and as a seamstress.  After moving to America when I was 9 years old, I would end up living with my mother and father and then moved to the Washington, DC area after almost losing my life.  I was always a creative, day-dreaming soul but I would graduate from Eleanor Roosevelt High in Maryland and soon after meet the man of my dreams.  After college, I got engaged, got married, and now have four beautiful children with my “after” high school love, husband and father to my little ones.

I am a vegetarian (was a vegan) and I strive to practice local, organic, fit and healthy choices for ourselves as well as our four kids.  I am a HUGE supporter of breastfeeding, donate religiously to March of Dimes. But my journey would lead me to a major BREAKDOWN, before experiencing a BREAKTHROUGH.

This pushed me to do some serious soul searching…

My introduction to blogging came to me at a point in my life when I felt like I needed a place to express my creativity and unique sense of humor without having to worry about anyone other than how writing and expressing myself made me feel.  It all started with a BREAKDOWN.  After getting married, starting a family and not having the support of my employer, writing became my muse.

One day after coming home from travel, I found myself in the shower, crying, MAC makeup and mascara running down my face.  I felt stuck, overworked, underappreciated and fed up with the daily 9-5 holding my dreams for ransom. That next day I got mad, got dressed, when out and had myself a Cocktail Happy Hour in celebration of ME.  Went to the spa and had a massage, mani/pedi, all in an effort to figure out WHO I WAS again.  Have you ever felt like running away?  Do you sometimes feel alone in your mess? Where do you go when you have no where to go?

After joining local mom groups and women in business meetups I was BLOWN AWAY by the number of women fired from their jobs WHILE being pregnant or after coming back to work only to find that there’s no place for them.  It was unfair but a fact none-the-less.  There were so many women (who like me) desperately wanted to change their circumstances with alternative methods to maintaining their lost income.  I started offering my marketing, branding and product developement experience to my new “lady gal pals”.

Finding my passion & discovering the power of the Internet…

I was alone in my thoughts with dreams of a more flexible, manageable life.  But with a schedule only Jay Z and Beyonce, Brad Pitt and Angelina can afford to manage, I was having a hard time managing my personal time as well.  After teaching myself WordPress Website design and PHP, I began creating websites and became more than a marketing and business developer but a social media marketing trainer soon after.  I created my very first celebrity blog in 2007 called The Cocktail Cafe as my little creative hobby to express myself.  A fun little internet radio show, brought me celebrity moms from MTV, BET, and the BRAVO TV Network, authors, and expert fashion designers.

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some amazing women and now, I teach other women entrepreneurs, work from home moms (WAHM), moms who blog, and professional business women the “DOTcom” lifestyle.  Most of these women (like me) are looking to take the power and reach of the internet, to leverage their time, money and expertise. They desire to live a life filled with passion, purpose and harmony.

I know that I was a hit when I started getting checks in the mail and direct deposits in my bank account.  As I started offering social media and business blogging to my employer, I began consulting to smaller real estate, construction and Independent entrepreneurs looking to get more business on a non-existent marketing budget.  Being able to present my online portfolio and blogging experience made it easy to demonstrate the power of search engine marketing and optimizing my brand to increase my bottom line.

Let me help you build your dream life and business…

The most amazing thing about what I do everyday, is not having to sell anyone or chase after prospects on social networks.  I am not a network marketer trying to recruit anyone, nor do I offer MLM hopes and dreams.  I help real business owners use their passion, the power of blogging and social networking to attract their target marketing, control their brand’s online image and generate qualified leads to their business using the power of attraction marketing campaigns.

My passion and my mission now is to…

1.) Create a roadmap towards success for women entrepreneurs and moms who blog in pursuing their wildest dreams beyond what their reality may say.  Helping them take action driven steps that lead to infinite profits and the life they envision running successful internet businesses from anywhere in the world. We are all connected and the power of attraction marketing and online web marketing is simply the virtual representation of that fact. Its time to WAKE UP the planet!

2.) Demonstrate how a hard working mother, wife and business owner can still have it all.  I want to give back to my community through education and demonstration, that women in business are thriving despite what the economists may say.  Its time we take back our communities!

3.) Build wealth within my family and for the many families that I am blessed to meet.  If we focus of education, business ownership and investing in ourselves… the future is for us to decide. Are you ready to change the course of your life and your family?

I really am prowd of you and your work. I must say, I was frustrated when I stumbled upon your guide in how to update a website. I was waiting on my designer to call me back to just change my demo video and you did provide lots of guidance and careful insight. As Guyanese myself, I have been trying to build my brand and have been happy to note some progress.

My first company http://www.youthconnex.com was a hugh hit and I quickly follow with http://www.rekindleit.com but today all my frustrations was over http://www.nigelspeaks.com. You have been very caring in your delivery and truly need to be given some commendation for your success.
